Day 72 238.8 lbs

I’ve been staying on the plan, about 98% of the time. That said I had had some pastry and chocolate and butter on cornbread. Yes, I said butter! There are times when there is no replacement for butter. Julia Child would tell you the same if she was alive.

I find that the days I don’t eat greens I don’t lose the weight I would have otherwise, and sometimes not at all. Highly refined grains are the same. Things like bread and pasta and the sort are refined grains, and cornbread. Those need to be minimized to once a month.

I’ve come up with some more things to eat since I wrote about food last. I started using sprouted grain pita and loading a warm pita with hummus and whole chick peas, Claire’s homemade pickles and green leaf lettuce. It’s really good, really light and filling enough to make it a player. I like to put a heavy dose of black pepper on mine.

I’ve discovered how to make cornbread vegan using a mix from sprouts. It’s an exercise in substitutions but it works. Apple Sauce for oil, chia and water for egg and almond milk make it pretty darn hearty and tasty. Sadly, it needs IMHO butter! That coupled with a hot bowl of chili and it’s a winner of a dinner and overall not too bad for you. Don’t over do the cornbread, but that’s NOT easy! Hahahahahaha

I really only have two pair of pants left. One new one and one old one that really fit. Everything else I belt up and it looks like I’m wearing a balloon made of denim. Sometimes a new finish and sometimes an old finish, but always a balloon made of denim.
