Only 3 tenths of a pound since last I wrote. I had a very fun race this weekend and wanted to be sure I wasn’t in too much of a calorie deficit to be at my best. I ran a personal best 5K at 35.28. It could have been faster and will be next time, but that’s another story for another day. In any event we know that weight tends to hold when you workout hard, and I did. Maybe in a day or two I’ll see a dip as long as I’m good on the diet and careful about recovery.
Recovery. That’s a topic I haven’t touched on much. It’s easily possible to over train. It’s easy because you get into a routine where you do this thing every day, in the same way without much variation. Rest is where the real progress is made, and where the diet becomes more important than the work. We rest more, a lot more than we work, so what we eat and when we eat it becomes more important than the work if we want to achieve our goals.
I’m on a mission this week to achieve the 23x.x goal. Losing about 3 pounds if I can. I say if,.. I know I can and will and maybe more. That’s the confidence I get from this way of eating to lose weight. I seem to be able to almost do it on demand by buckling down and making it happen. Being strict in eating lots of greens and beans and fruit.
Has anyone discovered overnight oatmeal in a slow cooker? I did,.. and it’s a treat to not have to wait for breakfast! It’s ready when you get out of bed,.. how nice is that?
