Day 31 253.0 lbs

21 pounds this month, 21 pounds in 31 days. I truly don’t know where the month went, it was here and now it’s gone. That really is it isn’t it. Time flies when we’re working at things and stands still while we’re waiting for the kettle to boil in the morning. Bringing it all into prospective I’ve lost 23 pounds on the whole foods plant based diet, gained an unreal amount of insight into how my body functions when fed correctly, made notes about what I’ve done right, what slows my weight loss, how to gain weight. How to time my days eating for maximum effectiveness at either and very importantly not to take it all too seriously.

Each week we have the potential to eat 21 meals if you assume three meals a day by seven days in the week. If one of those is not the best nutritionally, not a problem! Ensure the others are and it’s no harm no foul. Wanna have some whiskey one night, don’t over do it but no big deal. Wanna go off the rails for an afternoon and eat polish sausage at the car show and drink a few beers, OK! Other than those days it’s stick to the plan. Life is meant to be lived and a whole foods plant based lifestyle doesn’t mean you have to be a vegan activist, or extremist or whatever someone thinks about when the thought of eating mostly plants crosses their mind.

Yesterday I was trying to compile some data in the form of pictures from my scale application. It’s a real shit show of how I have fought my weight for so many years. I NEVER liked my picture being taken but I have a few from Grenada last year when I was almost 290 lbs and then I’ll take a couple more tomorrow to compare to now. You’ll be amazed, I know I am. With some success your mind starts to wander about what the final goal looks like, and it’s very difficult to even fathom. I’ve been heavy since high school and in college I was into lifting heavy. Every day I would step on the scale at the rec center and see 202 lbs, so I have some idea of what that looks like. That said, according to the BMI scale I should be from 176 to 185 pounds. That said, I will have a DEXA scan in March to see where the fat left is, and make plans to get rid of that. And see what a real healthy weight should be for me. The BMI gets blown out of the water for anyone that has more muscle mass than the average person, so,.. we shall see.
