Finally broke the 260 mark! That makes 15.1 lbs this month according to withing app. My lowest weight since 2013 has been 247.3 and then I was riding more than 100 miles every week on the bike, and trying hard to get lean. That means one thing, this is AMAZING!
What have I learned? I learned that using vegetables as the primary source of calories nets a very fast weight loss. Whole fruits and vegetables as the primary source of calories is the formula for me to lose weight. I did make cabbage and white bean soup yesterday and it turned out pretty good. It’s hard to feel full eating it so I think the recipe needs more beans, but the flavor is there. Next time, more beans! I’ve removed most starch for now, meaning potatoes and starchy roots are out in favor of things like carrots and cabbage and other high volume low starch veg. I do run the risk of being energy deficient for periods of time but I think it’ll be OK. I have fat stores to make up the difference in spades.
The weekend is coming, today is Friday. And this weekend is Barrett Jackson and an old friend is in town for the show. Tomorrow is going to be a good day at the show, and likely a bad day on the diet. I’ve been a very good boy for more than two weeks now, as the loss numbers reflect so I think as long as I take it easy tomorrow everything will be OK. We shall see.
I have another recipe in my head for a three bean Mexican soup type thing that involves cilantro and lots of peppers. I hope to be able to put that together soon and test what’s in my head out. I’m lucky be a good chef and I usually know what flavors go together well, but this is proving to be more challenging because no animal products and no oil is a new challenge to get good mouth feel and satiety.
Cray-Ray says, “You can’t outrun your mouth”. And he’s right! No amount of exercise will account for a bad diet. I know, I’ve tried!
