One thing changed yesterday, one! I didn’t do the cold shower thing. That’s really all I can attribute to the missing 3 tenths of a pound. My experience is still in the range of good though, maybe even better than good, so I see no reason to stray from the path. Disappointed? Yes! Going to stop? Never! 9.7 lbs in 7 days! I’ll take that with bells on! I took my waist measurement today, as part of an every Wednesday body count, and that’s down 2 full inches! TWO!! Holy crap!!
What did I eat yesterday? An Orange, 4 potatoes, and less than 1/4 cup of raw walnuts. Lots of water and lots of tea, but no coffee. I guess that’s the second thing I changed was coffee to tea. Tea is supposed to be better for us than coffee, still zero calories, so what the hell? An even mix of English Breakfast and Yerba Mate makes a great, rich cup of tea as good or better than most black coffee and close to the same caffeine.
I restructured the blog last night. WordPress has some funky ways of doing things so I had to read the help files. I hope anyone reading this likes the new format. That picture was taken 5 years ago in Florence Italy, the Duomo in the background. I love that city, and Italy as a whole.
Went to the dentist for the first time in 5 years yesterday. Nothing terrible just a routine cleaning and checkup. Maybe the stress of the dentist caused a little cortisol boost, another lovely hormone that keeps one from dumping weight at a rapid pace. You see I’m really grasping at straws to explain the slowing of the pace, but in actuality I need to learn to accept that it wont always be half a pound, and even so, that’s not too terrible.
I can’t wait to start cooking again! I love to cook and I see this lifestyle as a challenge and an opportunity to learn new things. How to cook in ways that encompass the whole food genre. Minimally processed and as close to nature as possible is the goal. I see myself doing some wilting of Kale, making white bean and Kale soup, interesting bean chili with corn and I am working on a recipe in my head for lettuce wraps made with quinoa and mango. I love mango, and can’t stand avocado! Avocado is like baby poo to me, always has been. There’s been one time in my life I had guacamole that was any good and an old friend made that. God only knows what was actually in it, but it was good!
